Create Your Own Mothman
I love getting the opportunity to build a custom Mothman.
The deposit to begin a custom Mothman is $90.
This deposit gets the process started. Anything extra or above the standard custom Mothman will be discussed with you and added to the final price.
Most of my custom Mothmen end up somewhere around $180–$300, depending on the choices and extras. But can be as low as $90 for a simple mothman in a mason jar.
This guide gives you an idea of the options available. Once you place your deposit, I'll contact you personally and we'll work through the details together.
Step 1 — Choose His Pose
- Sitting cross-legged
- Standing with his hands at his sides
- Standing with his arms crossed
- Kneeling
- Pole dancing
- Trying to escape / climbing / flying
Step 2 — Choose His Wings
Choose from the wings I currently have available.
Every set of wings is unique, so availability can change. If you have a particular color, pattern, or type of wing in mind, let me know and I'll see what I can find.
Step 3 — Choose His Container
Choose the container that will become his new home.
I'll show you the available options and help you choose one that works with your Mothman's size, pose, and wings. A standard 16 oz pint pint mason jar is included in the $90 deposit. 
Step 4 — Give Him a Name
Every Mothman I create gets his own unique name.
With a custom order, you get to name him whatever you want.
Or, if you would rather leave it up to me, I can name him for you. After all, I am the mothman mother.
Step 5 — Choose Your Extras
Custom Painted Body — +$25
This is one of my favorite extras.
I love painting patterns and details that complement the wings. I especially love incorporating metallic paint and finding ways to make the body feel like it belongs with the wings.
If you have something specific in mind, tell me. I love a good challenge.
Mothman Holding Something — +$25 and up
Want your Mothman to hold something special? A flower, a tiny object, a snack, the skull of his vanquished enemy... or whatever strange little treasure you have in mind. Tell me what you're thinking and we'll see what we can create.
3D Printed Skull — +$200 and up
Want something a little more macabre?
I can create a custom-painted, 3D-printed skull displayed inside a large 12" x 9" cloche.
These are carefully packaged in a double box for shipping.
One-of-a-Kind Custom Creation — +$600 and up

In 2023, in the middle of what I lovingly call my millennial midlife crisis, I sold my home and decided to pursue art full-time.
The creativity is what drives me.

International Shipping — $50 deposit toward shipping
I want to spread the good news of Mothman across the world! As an artist, nothing makes me happier than seeing my work find a home in another country.
International shipping can be complicated because my Mothmen contain real insect wings and other natural materials that may be subject to customs regulations. Your deposit will be applied toward your final shipping cost.
Once I receive your deposit, I'll ask for your shipping address and the details of your order and provide you with an exact shipping quote.
I will package your Mothman carefully and ship him with appropriate insurance whenever available. Please understand that international customs delays, inspections, additional fees, or restrictions are outside of my control and can occasionally take a considerable amount of time.
I will provide detailed documentation describing your Mothman as a handmade sculptural artwork and will do everything I can to make his journey across the border as smooth as possible.
How Long Will It Take?
Custom Mothmen are handmade, so please allow up to two month for completion.
That said, most custom orders are completed much faster. I can usually have your Mothman ready within a month. 
If you need your Mothman by a specific date, just let me know when you place your order and I'll do my best to accommodate you.
What Happens After You Place Your Deposit?
Once your $90 deposit is received, I'll contact you and we'll work through your choices together.
We'll discuss:
- His pose
- His wings
- His container
- His name
- Any custom painting
- Anything he will be holding
- Any additional custom requests
- Shipping
I'll make sure we agree on the design and any additional costs before I begin creating your Mothman.
Every custom Mothman is handmade and one of a kind. Small variations and unexpected little details are part of what makes each Mothman unique.
